Beauty Faves

What are the products the Woman’s Way crew use on repeat? In this issue, Niamh O’Reilly shares a few of her new favourites that have found a forever place on her bathroom shelf

The Mask

Putting on a face mask a er a hot shower is as close to a spa day as I’m likely to get right now. My philosophy, however, is never go for the super cheap option as they often irritate or inflame my skin. It’s a pricey habit though, not to mention the disposable nature of them. So, I’ve invested in a nifty Reusable Silicone Boost Mask by Soothe Skincare €14.99 from bareblue.ie, an Irish eco-friendly beauty website. Being reusable is a game changer plus you can use it with any serum on your beauty shelf.

I’ve been using it with my Ultraceuticals Ultra B2 Hydrating Serum once a week. The serum is €69.50 so I feel like this is giving me even more bang for my buck, and putting the mask in the fridge beforehand is absolute heaven.

Budget-Tastic Beauty Swaps

We’re all feeling the pinch right now and one of the first things I try to cut back on is my bulging makeup bag by seeing if I can find some budget friendly swaps. e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter at €15 is a fairly good dupe for the higher-end brands, which are almost twice the price. The wand is rather large, which makes precise dotting a bit of a challenge, but it’s good for adding a little highlight to your eyes, cheeks and anywhere you feel you need a little glowy magic.

Good Hair Day

I don’t know about you, but when my hair cooperates with me, my day just starts o‑ better. I’ve recently switched things up, going from highlights to a balayage and I love the more natural effect it’s giving me. But what’s made a massive difference is using L’Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Metal Detox Cleansing Cream Shampoo €29.45, because unbeknownst to me, there seems to be a build up of metal in my hair via the water supply. This shampoo has made my hair super so and the colour looks less dull.

Skin Pick-Me-Up

Whether it’s the tiredness of getting back into the morning rush after the summer or my lack of hydration, I decided to invest in some skin pickme-ups. Vitamin C is my go-to for a brighter mush and this new Vitamin C Elixir (15ml) €36.25 from Skinician is a real treat.

Alas it’s not just my face that needs a bit of joie de vivre, the rest of my skin does too. I picked up a wee bit of colour over the summer and would like to try and keep the glow going. But did I mention I hate tanning products, or rather I hate the patchiness and maintenance. Still, I’ve taken the plunge with Irish brand’s He-Shi Hydra Luxe Lotion €24. What I like about it is that it feels more like a moisturising lotion than tan and so far has worn down much better, meaning the upkeep is easier.
